Dr. Tashika Griffith

Dr. Tashika Griffith began her tenure as the seventh president of Germanna Community College (GCC) in January 2026. A seasoned higher education leader with a record of innovative and student-centered leadership, Dr. Griffith joins GCC following nine years of distinguished service as Campus Provost at St. Petersburg College.


Throughout her career, Dr. Griffith has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the transformative mission of higher education. Prior to arriving at Germanna, her leadership experience spans multiple states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia, where she has served in progressively senior administrative roles. She began her career as Director of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Scranton before serving as Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Miami and Associate Dean at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. At St. Petersburg College, she advanced from Associate Provost to Campus Provost, where she worked collaboratively to strengthen institutional effectiveness, support student success initiatives, and advance enrollment growth.


Dr. Griffith holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with certification in Ethnic Studies from Florida Atlantic University, a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Leadership Policy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), and a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. She also earned a professional certificate in higher education from Harvard University.
