Rob Quartel

Rob Quartel is a successful serial entrepreneur and founder, technologist, and investor in a range of ventures in international security, energy, transportation, safety and environment, information technology, food, high-tech shipbuilding, and in marine and maritime technology.

He actively mentors a select number of early-stage companies on business strategy. Interests include broadband extension, regional economic development, and the Blue-Green maritime economy. He sits on numerous technology boards, including Virginia’s Innovation Partnership Corporation, and is former Vice Chair of the Region 6 GO Virginia board, and continues to serve on several non-profit and local governmental boards.

Rob was US Federal Maritime Commissioner under Bush 41 and was the “father” of modern maritime container data security; has twice run for Federal office; and was the senior issues director in the Ford and Bush presidential campaigns. He is a graduate of Rice and Yale Universities.
