New Funding Available!

Up to $1M in additional funding has been made available to each GO Virginia Region for COVID-19 response.

These funds will help the region build capacity to support and serve existing businesses, priority traded sectors, and essential businesses, including
the healthcare system and its supply chain during this crisis.

Projects must still align with Region 6’s Project Requirements.

ERR Fast Access Award

The Region 6 Council awarded $77,000 of ERR Fast Access COVID-19 Relief funds to the MPCBPAA to modify an app to connect seafood and agricultural producers with
buyers in the Middle Peninsula. These markets have been virtually shut down due to COVID-19.

GO Virginia Grant Awards

At its Council meeting in May, the Region 6 Council awarded $299,000 in funding for the region in traditional GO Virginia funding categories.

The Fredericksburg Regional Alliance received $48,750 in GO Virginia funding to complete their updated Industry Cluster Analysis and Regional Industrial Facilities Authority scope.

The Northern Neck received $300,200 in GO Virginia Region 6 funding to study the feasibility of a Commercial Kitchen at Longwood University Hull Springs and expand the Westmoreland Workforce Training Center.

New Project Timeline and Application

To better assist the region in receiving funding, staff has updated the region’s application process and timeline to shorten the window between application and approval.
